VISUAL SECURITY AND ACCESS

Face masks seem to be something that are now part of our normal life for some time to come.  While they help stop the transfer of airborne pathogens, they also stop the ease in identifying who we are seeing or speaking with.  Having an ID Card on a lanyard, badge clip or badge reel will allow others to see an image of the person they are speaking to.  This can help young students feel more comfortable, and adults form a mental picture of who they are interacting with and help to foster human connections.

Student ID cards (K-12 & Higher Ed) are often used beyond school identification.  When equipped with a barcode, QR code, or Mag Stripe they can assist in check out of books, meal plans, or event attendance.   When they are printed on technology cards such as proximity, RFID, or smart cards, they can enable that card to be used for access into buildings or even residential housing.   Outside of school, they are often used to allow entry to sporting and extracurricular events.  Some businesses offer discounts if a school ID is presented.

Due to COVID-19 we are all looking for ways to prevent the transfer of germs.  Cards can actually be a helpmate in that.  Using a card with Contactless technology you can have a door unlock without ever even touching it. Touchless operation reduces the spread of viruses, bacteria and infectious diseases.

Managing your access control with the power of these cards allows you not only ease of access but also the ability to “shut down” access using that card if it is ever lost, stolen, or the individual is terminated.

BADGEPASS™ Credential Management Solution provides a single system that can Issue ID Cards, Manage Access Control, and even offer Visitor Management.  This is so valuable when it comes to preventing Credential Overflow – that is where you have more “live” cards than you do active cardholders.  Allowing you to shut off access abilities with a single click.

Imagine the ability to assign and activate access control right at the time of card issuance. One solution for many purposes…there is nothing like it. LEARN MORE ABOUT BADGEPASS AT https://youtu.be/GdPwZCoIf2g

PROOF OF VACCINATIONS

How to indicate who has been vaccinated for COVID, Flu, or any other necessary immunization – “Badge Buddies” are nothing new in the healthcare market, but for other entities, there is a need to show who has been vaccinated and meets heath security requirements that we are seeing more and more in every market imaginable.

This visual proof can be issued in a variety of ways.

An additional card – aka badge buddy, added where a visual or text approval is added to an additional ID card. The pros are they can be easily added to a badge using a slot for a badge clip.  The negative is – they would be easily transferred to another individual who may not have been vaccinated – security may not be at the highest level.

A tamper-proof sticker to have adhered to an ID.  We suggest using a tamper-proof sticker that is numbered so that a duplicate can not be issued.  We want to ensure that only those who have been vaccinated have access to this solution.

If an individual tries to remove the sticker it will leave portions of the sticker on the surface and remove them from the actual sticker.

Printing a static image on the card at the time of issuance.  This would be the most secure and tamper-proof means of showing those vaccinated.

This can also be used to represent someone who had access to a nursery or other area where only designated personnel are allowed. Again, showing just how important visual identifiers are.

Heath Care has always used photo ID badges for security, and access but now with the wearing of face mask and shields as part of their COVID-19 PPE regimen, it can be hard to create the human connection when it comes to patient care.  Being able to see a first name and a smiling face…even if in the photo image on a card, can help nurture the patient/provider relationship.

Eldercare facility residents have been deeply impacted by social distancing. The ability to see the face of their caregiver will no doubt enable them to feel more comfortable and less alone.
